Your children will enjoy rolling down the big hill to the tractor waiting at bottom.
The tractor engine roars, the kids jump on the ride, and the 100 acre tour of the strawberry farm begins.
Children view strawberry fields forever with over 400 American flags keeping watch over Strawberry Hill USA.
The students receive a hands-on education on the many aspects of farming, walking through a row of berries where the tour guide teaches all about farming strawberries.
Topics include:
- Land preparation
- Plant growth & production
- Environmental factors of growing strawberries
- Irrigation of berries via underground irrigation and filters from pound
- Harvesting of strawberries (training of pickers, method of picking berries, who purchases these berries)
- Children will meet a strawberry picker and learn how we train them to pick berries.
- Each student has the opportunity to pick and eat a fresh strawberry.
- A nature walk to pump station to view underground irrigation and fertilization system is always a favorite.
This is a fun & educational trip. The amount of information covered is based on students’ age and teacher’s direction.
